Blue Gum Woodlands
Originally purchased in 1970 to accommodate an expanding school footprint, the Blue Gum Woodlands at Nuriootpa High School are now being preserved and revegetated to support native bush garden and wildlife, including kangaroos, emus and wombats.
Under the guidance of teacher Mr Will Conway, students are actively involved in the care and conservation of the six-hectare site, learning first-hand about environmental stewardship, conservation, and land management. In 2026, students have been hands-on in the efforts to clear invasive weeds and prepare the area for regeneration.
The regeneration of the Blue Gum Woodlands is linked with our school’s Entrepreneurial Education focus through:
- Caring for our environment
- Promoting sustainability
- Community collaboration
- Engaging with our local economy
Cross-Curriculum and Community Collaboration
In 2026 and beyond we are planning and progressing a range of cross-curriculum projects across Special Education, Science, Art, Technologies and more.
Our school has also established partnerships with local and broader community organisations to support these projects. We are proud to be working with:
