Year 10 photography students at Nuriootpa High School have been developing their understanding of the technical aspects of digital photography and building their knowledge and confidence in camera settings and photographic techniques.
Exploring macro photography, students have learnt how careful framing, perspective, and attention to detail can dramatically transform an image.
“Students have not only developed technical photography skills but have also learned to view the world through a different lens, gaining a deeper appreciation for their environment and discovering new ways of seeing familiar subjects from unique perspectives,” explains visual arts teacher, Ms Tegan Simmons.
In addition to classroom learning, students have had the opportunity to participate in optional weekly photography challenges to encourage further extension of creativity. Challenge submissions provided students to opportunity to have their work appraised by external professional photographers alongside various Arts faculty members at NHS.
“It has been wonderful to see students enthusiastically embracing these opportunities and producing work of an incredibly high standard,” said Ms Simmons.
