Enrolment process

To learn more about what Nuriootpa High School has to offer, we encourage you to explore our prospectus. If you’re considering enrolling your child at our school, we welcome enquiries at any time throughout the year.

Eligibility and enrolment

While priority is given to families residing within our school’s designated ‘zone’, we also consider other enrolment applications based on availability. To determine your closest local school, visit the find your local school page on the department’s website prior to making an enrolment enquiry.

How to enrol

Required documentation

To complete the enrolment process, please provide the following:

  • Proof of identity (one of the following):
    • your child’s birth certificate
    • your child’s passport
    • Centrelink or other official government documents showing the child’s name and date of birth.
  • Proof of residence:
    • If you RENT your residence:
      • rental agreement covering at least the first 12 months at the school
      • recent gas or electricity bill
      • a copy of your bond receipt issued by Consumer and Business Services.
    • If you have PURCHASED your residence:
      • a copy of your Contract of Sale or recent council rates notice
      • recent gas or electricity bill.
  • Visa details (for non-Australian citizens only):
    • Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) printout or visa grant letter from the Department of Home Affairs.
  • Families holding dependent visas: 500H, 500P, 500S, 500V:
  • Additional documentation (if applicable):
    • court or custody orders
    • learning assessments
    • medical management plans (e.g. asthma, food allergies, medication)
    • previous school reports.

Please note: It is the responsibility of the parents applying for enrolment to be able to verify to the satisfaction of the school that the information provided is true and factual. If a child is enrolled on the basis of false or misleading information (including residential address) the Chief Executive may direct that the child be instead enrolled at another Government school pursuant to section 63(1) of the Education and Children’s Services Act 2019.

Year 6 into Year 7 Transition

The enrolment process for Year 7 is managed by the Department for Education. Year 6 students at government primary schools will automatically receive a ‘Starting Secondary School’ application pack from their primary school in April/May of Year 6.

Students attending non-government schools or transferring from interstate should request an application pack (including the ‘registration of interest for placement in Year 7’ form) by emailing education.StartingSecondarySchool@sa.gov.au.
