40 km/h school zone coming soon

27 January 2026
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport are rolling out 40 km/h time-based school speed limits on various state-managed (main) roads across South Australia to improve student safety. The change will bring South Australia in line with other states and will apply on school days between 8.00am – 9.30am and 2.00pm – 4.00pm. Existing 25 km/h school zone speed limits will also continue to apply.
The 40 km/h zone for Nuriootpa High School will be introduced on Murray Street in early 2026, with further information to be communicated to our school community closer to our school’s roll out date.
