VET Course On-site - Engineering Pathways 1 and 2
The Engineering Pathways Program (EPP) is a passage through Stage 1 and 2 which leads not only to the SACE, but also provides much improved training and employment opportunities. Students are able to study relevant and interesting topics whilst developing a valuable set of vocational skills and dual qualifications.
Students interested in engineering trades and career pathways should consider this program. The program is not suitable for all students. The EPP requires evidence of a committed study ethic, a mature approach to activities and some work placement to be done in holiday time. A cost of $120 in Stage 1 covers additional costs, work books and TAFE certification. Students need to supply overalls and safety boots for the compulsory 2 weeks of work placement. Interested students will be asked to provide a written application to enter the program and to attend an interview to assess suitability prior to acceptance.
The program is challenging but the rewards can be valuable and job opportunities in the engineering industry good. Stage 2 students undertake EPP studies through Barossa TAFE one day per week.
