Nuriootpa High School prides itself on School Sport. It teaches students how to enhance their own and others’ health, safety, well-being while being physically active. At NHS we run 18 interschool sports with 40 teams altogether across all year levels (8-12).

School sport offers the school community opportunities to build a strong identity and culture of excellence. Traditional values of respect, fairness, responsibility and resilience are developed as part of students’ participation. It provides a partnership between the school and local community organisations, which work together to develop students’ abilities and foster student aspirations in sport and recreation.

  • Individual Results
  • Ryan Hoklas- 10th place in the National Cross Country Champions in Melbourne in August. All Schools Athletics Games in 800m, 1500m and 3km. State Athletics Selection.
  • Regan Lambert- Selected in the state team to compete at the Pacific School Games in Softball. Selected in the 2016 U19 Women’s State Softball Team which will compete at the National Championships in Redlands, Queensland from 17th-23rd January 2016.
  • Shaun Hahn- Selected as Captain of the South Australian School Sport Triathlon Team. Placed 14th at the World Duathlon Championships in his age group.
  • Chelsea Brook- Selected in the South Australian Country Basketball Team which competed at the National Basketball Championships this year.
  • Thomas Wotton- Competed in the South Australian State Swimming Championships and will continue to train and compete in many National Swimming Events as part of his full South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) scholarship.
  • David Pomeroy- David finished 9th in a field of 24 boys in the Open Squash SA High School Championships. He has also been selected in the Squash SA State Team and competed in the National Junior Championships in Cairns.
  • Courtney Jensen- Selected in the State U18 Youth Girls Football Team. She played in the National Championships in WA and finished first in Pool B.
  • Kyesha Christensen- Selected in the State U18 Youth Girls Football Team. She played in the National Championships in WA and finished first in Pool B.
  • Jake Pfeiffer- Selected in the state team to compete at the Pacific School Games in Diving.
  • Aidan Schenk- All Schools Athletics Games. Selected in the Under 13 Little Athletics Nationals, Under 13 Hockey Nationals and been invited to trial for the U15 SA Hockey Team.
  • Lucy Elsworthy- All Schools Athletics Games.
  • Rhys Cannizzaro- Selected in the Under 15 Boys state basketball team.
  • Isaac Feltus- Selected in the Under 15 Boys state basketball team.
  • Mason Graetz- Selected in the Under 14 Boys state basketball team.
